Congratulations to Sears Racing on 1st & 3rd at King of the Mountain
Sears Racing had a stellar New Year's Eve with their horses taking both first and third place in the $750,000 King Of The Mountain race at Toowoomba.
The speedy Steady Ready set a solid tempo, before stablemate Yellow Brick stormed home under Ben Thompson, setting a new 1200m track record at Clifford Park and taking his impressive record to five wins in six starts.
Next up, Yellow Brick is headed to the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas, where there is a $250,000 bonus for the Women‘s ownership.
Tony Sears says he freshened up Yellow Brick with three weeks in the paddock, and Leigh Sears told us that feeding both Yellow Brick and Steady Ready the gut support supplement Digestive RP has been key to this success, saying "Poseidon supports our horses to get these fantastic results."
Daughter Maddysen Sears who co-trains Yellow Brick with her father Tony explained that they originally got him for just $20,000 due to a chip in his back fetlock. She explains that they got a call from the sales, with Paul Moroney and Catheryne Bruggeman saying there was horse they needed to buy.
After turning down a number of offers to buy Yellow Brick, the Sears Racing team have stated Yellow Brick is not for sale right now, and will now be turning their focus firmly to the Magic Millions.
